NEW NORTHSIDE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH

Our Ministries

Listed below are the guiding scriptures and mission statements of our Ministries here at New Northside M.B. Church:

 

Boosters

Guiding Scripture: (Phil. 4:13 NKJV) “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Mission Statement: To promote the spiritual growth and prosperity of New Northside MB Church.

Children 4 Christ (Children’s Church)

Guiding Scripture: (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV) “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old
he will not part from it”.

Mission Statement: The purpose of Children’s Church is to draw children closer to Christ through prayer and bible study and to teach them to be personal vehicles for winning souls for Christ.

Deaconess, Mothers & Ministers Wives Ministry

Guiding Scripture: (Matthew 28:19-20) “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you….” 

Mission Statement: To support the NNMBC Vision. Members, appointed by the pastor and the Ministry,  primarily assists in the observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper along with the Deacon’s Ministry.

From the scripture passage of Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven;” members are to be an example of God’s way of living.

Food Pantry

Guiding Scripture: (Deuteronomy 15:11) “For the poor shall never cease out of the land; therefore,
I command thee, saying, thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and the needy,
in thy land.”

Mission Statement: Supply and give food baskets, as needed, to our church family and to our local community.

Divine Inspiration Adult Praise Dancers

Guiding Scripture: (Psalm 149:3-4) “Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.”

Mission Statement:  To glorify God through our expression and movement so that we may bless and encourage others. Divine Inspiration also strives to minister with purpose and to worship God in spirit and in truth.

Expressions of Praise (Youth Praise Dance Ministry)

Mission Statement: (Psalms 149:3) “Let them praise His name with the dance.”
The Expressions of Praise Dance Ministry, ministers to the glory of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through dance in the form of praise, step and mime dancing with the foundation of the ministry being the word of God.

Ministry Objective: Win souls to Christ and through our ministry someone might be healed, delivered and set free.

We instill in the girls: In all that we do let it be done in a Spirit of Excellence as unto the Lord because only what you do for Christ will last.

Laymen

Guiding Scripture: (Psalm 133:1) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Mission Statement: Our purpose is to enlist and coordinate the manpower of the local congregation for an effective performance of essential Christian activities; to cultivate the Christianity of laymen through study, worship, fellowship and service; to enlist unchurched men for and to bring unsaved men into vital relations with Christ; to inspire men to support the total program of the church.

Male Chorus

Guiding Scripture: (Psalms 100:2) “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”

Mission Statement: To enlist men in the ministry of singing and praising God almighty, and to inspire others through song and praise and support the church.

Media Ministry

Guiding Scripture: (Proverbs 27:17) “As iron sharpen iron, so one person sharpens another.” (NN)

Mission Statement: To enhance the worship experience through amplified audio/video production; to go beyond the physical walls of our church using social media (i.e. twitter, google, facebook) and Right Now Media; to invite others to learn of God’s love, and keep members current with the inner workings of the church; and to provide resources that we pray will enable everyone to develop a deeper walk with Him.

Women’s Missionary Union

Guiding Scripture: (Matthew 5:16) “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.”

Mission Statement: The purpose of the Mission is twofold: First, we are reaching inward, nurturing our membership through mission study, education, fellowship, and prayer. Second, we are reaching outward through personal witnessing, evangelizing, helping the needy and less fortunate, and seeking justice and liberty in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. New Membership Class

Guiding scripture: (Colossians 3:16) “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

Mission Statement: To foster the integration and orientation of new members into the local church congregation encouraging fellowship, bible study, and ministry.

Scholarship Committee

Guiding scripture: (Proverbs 4:7) “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding.”

Mission Statement: To provide financial accountability, support and a spiritual connection to our members who are students and attend colleges, universities or trade schools.

Sisters of Mercy

Guiding Scripture: (Isaiah 6:8) “I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.”‘

Mission Statement: The Sisters of Mercy devote their time, talents and finances to serve God’s people, especially those who are sick in the hospital or in their home and imprisoned. In the spirit of the Gospel, their mission is to help people overcome fear in sickness by witnessing the merciful, greatness and faithfulness of God so they will be at peace during their sickness or death of a loved one. Their mission also is to honor one another above themselves; serve God and their church with zeal, keeping their spiritual fervor. (Romans 12:11) Peter said in 2 Peter 1:10b “Give diligence to make your calling and election sure.”

Sunday School Ministry

Guiding Scripture: (Proverbs 22:6) “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old,
he will not depart from it.”

Mission Statement: To accept the challenge of the Great Commission as commanded by our lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To religiously educate and train up armies of Christian Soldiers by teaching the Good News Gospel that brings about revelation and salvation. To let our lights shine and magnify His name together that His glory may be seen in us. To plant seeds of wisdom with the Word of God into the hearts of the young and old so that Jesus Christ will be lifted up, and draw all men unto Him.

Ushers and Health Unit

Guiding Scripture: (Proverbs 16:24) “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”

Mission Statement: The mission of the ministry is to serve the  church in proper order, leading by example, being the first to greet and give service or aid to members or guests that reflect the true meaning of Christian fellowship.

Voices of Victory

Guiding Scripture: (Psalms 98:1) “O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things.”

Mission Statement: Render praises to God through songs. Minister to the congregation in song to prepare them to receive the word from the Pastor and to accompany the Pastor on any missions he needs us to attend.

WJ Ellis Morning Gospel Choir

Guiding Scripture: (Psalms 98:1) “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.”

Mission Statement: Render praises to God through songs. Minister to the congregation in song to prepare them to receive the word from the Pastor and to accompany the Pastor on any missions he needs us to attend.
